We would like to thank everyone for their part in helping Burr Oak horse camp become a reality, not just a dream. The 24x40 shelter house is approximately three quarters of the way completed. Some finish work and the addition of a concrete floor remains until the project comes to a close. Please attend our annual poker run September 19-20 at the park. All proceeds will help pay for the concrete. Thanks to the seven counties who made donations for this worthwhile project. Their names will be listed on a plaque that will be placed on the front of the structure. We'd like to recognize them (in alphabetical order) as Athens, Coshocton, Fairfield, Guernsey, Licking, Scioto and Washington. Now that we have a shelter house, we hope that more riders will utilize the facility as Burr Oak personnel have commented about the lack of use.
