As the riding season winds down and the holidays approach it is time to reflect on the great year we have had. There have been many rides attended by our members and several we have hosted and all have been successful and very enjoyable. Look through the archives to read about some of the rides and to see pictures of them.

Below you can see some of the highlights of our Fall Ride:

Our Fall Ride and Soup Cook-Off was a resounding success. The weather was cool during the day and cold at night. But the rain stayed away and we had the most riders ever for this annual event. There were so many that we spilled over to the overflow area for camping. To the left you can see what it looked like before everyone arrived. The empty spaces filled up soon there after.

We had 15 entrants in the Soup Cook-Off. Teresa Spring was the champion. Connie King took second place, and Brenda Lehman placed third. Teresa won a Dutch oven for her efforts, and the others received cooking utensils. No one left this event hungry. I as well as many others had multiple samples of the various soups. I have to say they all tasted very good.

We chose to ride out in several different groups this year, and that seemed to be the way to go. I didn’t hear a single complaint about any of the rides. Many folks rode out with one group, then came back in and rode out with another. There were many folks who attended that we hadn’t seen in a while, so it was great to get caught up.

Our final ride of the year will be at Stone Church on November 7th and 8th. It is a free camping weekend so come out and enjoy the wonderful trails. Remember Stone Church has covered stalls in the main camping area for your horses, so it will be a great weekend rain or shine.
